But God, who is rich in mercy, because of HIS great love with which HE loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.  (Ephesians 2:4-6)

My name is Lisa Kolander and I am 42 years old.  I am from Gulf Shores, Alabama via Ann Arbor, Michigan. On January 23, 2006, by God’s grace and mercy, I came to the Wings of Life.  On January 23, 2006, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  That day I made a decision to LIVE!

I have been through three failed marriages.  I have been beaten, assaulted and almost killed.  I have lost jobs, a company, my nursing license, friends and my family.  I have been arrested and have contracted Hepatitis C.  I have even lost the most important thing to me, my children.  But I am free! I am finally free from all of the destruction in my life.

At the Wings of Life, one of the many things I have learned is how to have faith in God.  I’ve learned that the only way we can respond to God is by faith.  The only way we can know God, worship God or please God is by having faith. That faith helped restore my daughters back to me. God is so good!

I graduated from the 90-day program on April 20, 2006 and entered the Dove Foundation where I continue to seek everything I can from the Lord.  My plans are to continue working at the Wings of Life Thrift Store, attending my Dove classes and being a servant for the Lord here at the Wings of Life. I would like to first give thanks to God for all that He has done for me. I’d like to also give thanks to everyone at the Wings of Life.  Through God they are able to save lives and restore families, and are truly remarkable people.  I love you all!  You helped save my life!  God bless you all. To my girls Katie and Alley, I love you both and am so proud to be your mom.

I have recently been faced with a decision to take chemotherapy treatment for my Hepatitis C.  However two people at the Wings of Life have been healed of Hepatitis C recently and by faith, I am believing to be number three.  Years ago while I was in prison, a man gave me & everyone at the chapel service a warfare prayer. He said to pray it daily. I didn’t then but I sure do now. Thank God for him & his servant’s heart . Please pray for me. To God be the Glory!
