LEARNING HUMILITY

True humility is demonstrated in the most adverse situations, and I don't believe there is any situation worse than prison. Anyone who has been in prison knows the hardest thing to (do) is sit and accept a fellow inmate who offends. It is unmanly. We are expected to defend ourselves. If we don't we get labeled and others will try us. Jesus said to "turn the other cheek." This is very difficult to do. I want to get back home to my wife as quickly as possible

And if that means looking the fool to my fellow inmates, then that is what I will do. This is hard to do for someone like myself who has been in rebellion all his life. (Similarly) if I cannot submit to the authority of the officers, I will never to able to submit to God. Everyone in prison tries to usurp the authorities whenever we can. We insist on arguing when we believe we are right. When (innocent) Jesus stood before His accusers, He spoke not a word in His defense. If getting out of here quickly means that I must humble myself before those in authority over me and that this will bring me closer to God and get me back to my wife, I pray God gives me strength to prevail.
