Dear Bro. Mel:  Greetings!  I hope that upon receiving this letter you are doing fine and that “all is well with your soul”.  I am doing ok by the Grace of God.  I know it’s been a long time since I wrote you, but I want you to know Mel that I think about you Bro., more often than you’d think.  Your newsletter is a blessing & an inspiration in many ways.  In every day life, it’s very easy to lose perspective of God’s plans and to get discouraged.  More often than not, we get absorbed in our own surroundings with our own problems and we tend to lose sight of the fact that there is always someone less fortunate than ourselves.  I have been guilty of that many times over, as I have been locked down for a long time.  When I read your newsletter and read your testimonies and all the work you put in during one month, it puts things in perspective and makes me realize how blessed I am in many ways.  I know you’re mortal, same as any of us Bro. And you’re no stranger to pain (spiritual & physical) and suffering, yet I truly admire the tenacity & determination with which you serve the Lord.  It’s people like you that remind me constantly of  God’s unselfish love toward us.  He put us ahead of His own Son’s pain.  That’s how great His love is toward us.  I too can see how your dedication to the Lord is such that it enables you to set aside your personal pain and suffering in order to better minister to His people.  For that Bro. Mel, I salute you!  IT takes a very special breed to embark in the Lord’s work.  IT is a gift (I believe) that is endowed upon only to the most sincerest of heart.  Only God can look into a man’s heart and He doesn’t make mistakes.  Our commission is to go out and plant seeds. That is what I have learned to do . I always remember that you told me that “ I am the salt & light of the earth “ (Matt. 5:13, 14 ) even though I live in a place of darkness. Yes, it is the devil’s territory , but I dress for the daily battles with the Arsenal Prayer you gave to us . The Lord takes care of the rest.  Many times we don’t see the fruits of our efforts but that’s not part of the deal.  Any time the Lord chooses to allow us to see His plan, it’s a blessing.  “Any man can count the seeds in an apple, but only the Lord can count the apples that will be produced from one seed”.  So keep planting Bro.  The Lord wanted me to assure you that you’re planting some good seeds in the prisons.  One find day you will be greeted with the words, “Well done my good and faithful servant”.   Your newsletters as well as your sermons have been a blessing over the years to all of us in the penitentiaries who hear you.   Thank you Bro.  We love you.  God bless you, your family & your ministry 100 fold.

Bro. Oscar( Level 111 Penitentiary )
