Jeff Mayo spent over twenty years in the music business. But he spent that same 20 yrs going in and out of jails and institutions strung out on drugs and fast living.” I was living and hustling on the streets of L.A. and Long Beach for a fix to get through the day feeling trapped, lonely and destitute out of control and completely helpless.” He finally came to the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ his last time back to Prison and spending most of his waking moments immersed in the Word seeking the Lord and being transformed to a completely different person. After 19 months , Jeff was released into a 9-month discipleship program through Calvary Chapel Downey. Six months after his graduation God called him to full time music ministry where he spent his days going to convalesant hospitals and doing worship in home bible studies to preaching and playing in juvenile facilities.Jeff then became a full-time staff member at Calvary Chapel in North Long Beach. He was involved in many outreaches in this inner city community sharing and getting involved in some of the kids lives through music. He recorded a kids worship CD and produced a live CD of original worship music by David Shane and continues to open his recording facility to the neighborhood to produce rap and hip hop singles with the guys. He also drives a big bus which is their mobile classroom to do a released time class where they go to public schools in Long Beach and Compton to teach 4th and 5th graders bible study to 25 different schools a week!… Since this time Jeff has recorded and produced his first CD of bumpin’ Christian modern rock songs entitled “One Way Out” that he had penned while in prison. Very personal and captivating material to truly grab an audience and draw you in. OneWayOut will soon be releasing their next album, “EndTimez” which has an apocalyptic harder edge really capturing and encompassing all the craziness and chaos we see happening around the world. He has been working in ministry with a few local area Calvary Chapels along with the Calvary Downey’s “Prison Ministry of America” for the last 5 years. He has also had the privilege to become a platform guest for the world-renowned Bill Glass PrisonMinistry, where he has an opportunity to share his own original music to rock out the message to masses in prison and help evangelize them…. Jeff does many street outreaches and works with many of the cities drug addicted and homeless. Jeff has an unswervable dedication and commitment to the Lord and has blessed countless friends and families with his ministry. He is available for new ministry opportunities and will forever respond to the call of Jesus Christ! Isaiah 40: 28 – 31 tells us in the Word of God:” The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might, He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who ‘wait’ on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not be faint.”
