WITH OR WITHOUT GOD

Like many people, I prayed to God only when I was in serious trouble, figuring it was better to be safe than sorry.  I had never gone to a church or sought a personal relationship with God.  What did I need God for?  Without God, I obtained an accounting position with the Space and Defense Systems Group in California.  Without God I became the Communications and Technology manager at a Los Angeles area chamber of commerce.  I rubbed elbows with the city’s most visible business professionals.  Without God I started a consulting business.  I was mentioned in national publications, and my reputation grew throughout the profession.  Without God I got greedy and I did whatever it took to get more money and visibility.  Without God I committed felonies in six states.  Eventually I was charged with 300 separate crimes.  I spent my 28^th birthday in prison.  My cellmate convinced me to attend a Christian revival at the prison.  The turning point came when one of the volunteers testified about her experience in finding the Lord.  So on my 28^th birthday, God forgave the mistakes I made in life.  He wiped the slate clean, and through His grace He offered a new life.
